1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the metroMoove mobile application, website, or services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you (the "User") and HitchAfrica Technologies Limited ("metroMoove," "we," "our," or "us").
metroMoove provides a digital platform that enables users to:
Request and schedule transportation services via the mobile app.
Connect with independent drivers who provide such transportation services.
Access logistics and delivery services within supported locations.
metroMoove is not a transportation provider. All transport services are provided by third-party drivers who operate as independent contractors.
To use the MetroMoove platform, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
Provide accurate and complete registration information.
Use the platform only for lawful and personal purposes.
You must create an account to use most features of the platform. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. MetroMoove is not liable for any unauthorized access to your account.
Fares for rides are calculated based on time, distance, demand, and location.
All charges are displayed in-app before confirming a ride.
metroMoove may apply surge pricing during peak periods.
Payments can be made via cash, card, wallet, or other available payment methods.
Receipts will be issued electronically via the app or email.
metroMoove reserves the right to adjust pricing at its sole discretion.
If you are a driver on the metroMoove platform, you agree to:
Hold a valid driver’s license, vehicle papers, and comply with local laws.
Maintain a safe, clean, and functional vehicle.
Provide courteous, professional, and timely service.
Not engage in fraudulent or illegal activity.
Submit to background checks and KYC verification.
Accept ride requests only when you are legally and physically fit to drive.
metroMoove reserves the right to deactivate or suspend your account if you violate these terms.
Riders may cancel a trip before the driver arrives. Late cancellations may incur a cancellation fee.
Drivers may cancel trips for safety or valid operational reasons.
Excessive cancellations by either party may result in penalties or account deactivation.
Users (riders and drivers) agree not to:
Engage in threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or illegal behavior.
Carry weapons, drugs, or other prohibited substances.
Tamper with the app or reverse-engineer its code.
Impersonate any person or provide false information.
metroMoove reserves the right to ban or report users who violate these policies.
Riders and drivers can rate each other after every trip. Repeated low ratings may result in warnings or removal from the platform. Reviews must be honest and non-abusive.
metroMoove shall not be liable for:
Personal injury, property damage, or losses during rides.
Delays, cancellations, or service interruptions.
Any transaction issues not directly caused by metroMoove's systems.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific ride in question.
All content, trademarks, logos, and software on the metroMoove platform are the property of HitchAfrica Technologies Limited. You may not reproduce, copy, or modify any part of the platform without prior written consent.
By using the platform, you consent to metroMoove's data collection, use, and sharing practices as outlined in our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your data and complying with Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
MetroMoove reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified via the app or email. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
metroMoove may suspend or terminate your access to the platform for any reason, including but not limited to breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or legal concerns.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ondo State.
